The McDonald’s Educates Scholarship Program of Greater Washington, D.C. honors outstanding high school seniors who demonstrate exceptional scholastic skills, leadership, and financial need. McDonald’s believes it is important to recognize young people who make a positive difference in their communities and is proud to honor those students through scholarship opportunities. The franchisees of McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C. have always placed a high value on education and to date have awarded over $800,000 to local students through this annual scholarship program.

This year, for the first time ever, the McDonald’s Family Restaurants of Greater Washington, D.C. are offering two levels of scholarships. The General Level scholarship will award 60 scholarships in the amount of $1,500 or $5,000 while the Greens for Grads Level scholarship will award 3 scholarships in the amount of $50,000. The criteria for each of these scholarship levels vary, so please consult the full application for details. All awards will go directly the college or university (any accredited institution) that the recipient plans to attend. Winners will be recognized at a reception in the spring of 2015 and will also be featured in a publicity campaign.

The scholarship program is open to high school seniors whose high school is located within the Greater Washington, D.C. area—including the District of Columbia and portions of Maryland, Northern Virginia, and West Virginia.
